1.翻译第一句时，注意“以惊人速度增长”有多种表达方式，可译为 increase at a(n) phenomenal/remarkable/ astonishing rate，也可译为 grow with surprising rapidity。
2.第二句较短，且与第一句逻辑关系紧密，可处理为 which 引导的非限制性定语从句，与第一句合译为一句。句中的“极大地改变了” 既可以直接译为has greatly/enormously/significantiy changed, 也可以译为 has made major changes to.
3.翻译第三句时，“而不” 可译为instead of 或 rather than；“报刊” 是报纸和期刊的总称，因此应译为 newspapers and periodicals。

4.翻译第四句时，“使用手机应用程序通信比传统电话便宜” 需要处理为比较级结构。翻译时既可处理为两个动词短语的比较，译为" using mobile apps to communicate is cheaper than using traditional telephones" ,也可以将其转化为两个名词短语的比较，译为"communication through mobile apps costs less than traditional telephone calls" 。
5.翻译第五句时，“过度依赖手机”可以翻译为 rely too much/ heavily on mobile phones，也可以用 over-reliance 来表示“过度依赖”，这样翻译更简洁。
